First off this is sort of an introduction and question thread rolled into one. My name is Cam and I'm from Dover. I have a T4 and a SC10. I took a long hiatus from RC due to nothing being around after the Hobbytown closed shop in Dover. I'm actually really excited to have found a local track. I'm gonna be looking to run rookie in the spring with the SC10. My question is Rookie a 17.5T Blinky class too?

Hi Cam, My name is Ray. The Rookie class is an open class you can run any 1/10 scale vehicle along with any type of motor or esc. Once you go to fast you'll be bumped up to the open or 17.5 class depending on what you want to run. Most likly you would move up to the 17.5 (non-blinky) the only limitation with the 17.5 class is battries must be 50c or less. We currently dont have anyone running stadium trucks but that doesnt mean someone new won't show up this year. However, you may want to consider 2wd or 4wd buggy. 2wd buggy may be on of our largest classes this year. 4wd is just starting and we need more racers if your interested. Thanks, Ray

Hey Ray, Thanks for the reply. I ended up making a trip to MBRC last friday to watch and talk to people. I brought a friend along and his SC10 is on the way now. I really liked the buggy class and thought about a B4 conversion for the T4 but will most likely just go with a new B5.

That's great that your getting your friend into it, one of my friends will be running my B4.2 this year. I must say I'm thrilled that we are going to have some new drivers this year. We have had some great growth over the past 6 months. At the end of the season we were running the following classes 2wd Buggy Open - Average 3-5 Drivers 4wd Short Course Open - Average 3-6 Drivers 2wd Short Course 17.5T - Average 5-7 Drivers Rookie (Open) - Average 2-3 Drivers - In 2015 we are expecting the following - 2wd Buggy Open - Average 6-8 Drivers 4wd Short Course Open - Average 3-6 Drivers 2wd Short Course 17.5T - Average 8-10 Drivers Rookie (Open) - Average 3-5 Drivers New Classes 4wd Buggy Open - Average 2-3 Drivers Traxxas Slash Class - Average 3-4 Drivers
I know two of us just got new B5's this year so you would have a couple drivers to talk about setups with. If you don't mind I would like to know how you heard of us? I'm trying to get an idea of what is working best to get the word out about our tracks. Also from your posts it seems that your are an Associated man, is that true? (just know I will like you more if you say yes, lol)

That's awesome. I will do my best to make as many of the practices and meets as possible.
I did a Google search for Maryland RC tracks and it sent me to a RCtech thread and I found a link through there.
Yes, I am an Associated man.

Thanks, It's nice to have another Associated man. We will be working on the Oak Grove track in March. Once the dates are finalized I can let you know if your interested in meeting some of the guys.

Hey Cam,
This is Rob...the other Associated guy at our track. Glad you found us,look forward to you running with us this year. I have an original RC10T that I'm dusting the cob webs off of and will be running if we have any interest in 2wd open stadium truck.

I just finished the rebuild on mine last night. I told myself I couldn't open the B5 until the T4 was moving under its own power. I hope the T5M and 22T being some life back to the class.
